Council numbers show Green councillors report far more issues on behalf of residents than any other party
Data from Wirral Council showing which councillors report the most issues on behalf of residents paint a familiar story. Once again Green Party councillors easily beat the other parties. Key highlights of the data from the web platform which all councillors are required to use include:
- Green councillors typically reported 273 issues each in 2022 – over five every week on average Labour and
- Tory councillors typically reported just 37 cases each, seven times less than the typical Green councillor
- Lib Dems were a distant second with each typically reporting 84 cases during 2022
- Bromborough councillor Jo Bird reported 586 cases, more than any other councillor and a higher number than the 18 lowest Tory councillors or the 20 lowest Labour councillors
Councillor Pat Cleary says, “Yet again the evidence speaks for itself. Green councillors work harder and achieve more for their residents than any other party. It’s no surprise that more and more people in Wirral are voting Green and our numbers on the council are growing rapidly. I’m extremely proud to be part of such a hard working team committed to supporting their local communities.”
